Sri Ramakrishna Engineering College (SREC), Coimbatore established in the year 1994 by SNR Sons Charitable Trust is one of the 17 institutions managed by the trust. SREC is an autonomous institution offering 12 Undergraduate programs in the disciplines of Aeronautical, Biomedical, Civil, Mechanical, Electronics and Communication, Electrical and Electronics, Electronics and Instrumentation, Information Technology, Computer Science and Engineering, Robotics and Automation, Artificial Intelligence and Data Science and M.Tech Computer Science and Engineering (5 Year Integrated). The institution offers Five postgraduate programs in Engineering and Technology with specializations in Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Data Science, Robotics and AI, VLSI Design, Embedded System Technologies, and Nanoscience and Technology, in addition to an MBA.
A four-year B.E. Degree in Robotics and Automation is launched in the silver jubilee year of the institution with an intake capacity of 60 students. L&T Technologies, Chennai and Craftsman Automation, Coimbatore, and Wipro Pari are Industrial Knowledge partners for the program. This program focuses on the design, construction, operation, and use of autonomous and robotic devices and the computer systems necessary for their control, sensory feedback, and information processing. The department has state-of-the-art laboratories such as the Centre of Excellence in Smart Factory/Industry 4.0, Centre for Pneumatics and Grippers, Autonomous Mobile Robot Lab, Robot Simulation and Programming Lab, and Open Innovation Lab. The department offers a UG Programme in B.E Robotics and Automation and a PG program in M.TechRobotics and Artificial Intelligence.
Wipro Infrastructure Engineering (WIN), a Wipro Enterprises (P) Limited business, set up its automation business in 2018 as a solutions provider for Industrial Automation. It acquired PARI in 2021 to become Wipro PARI. Wipro PARI designs and develops state-of-the-art equipment, utilizing cutting-edge technologies for implementation in its advanced automation systems and robotic solutions.
The primary objective of conducting the National Level Robot Talent Hunt named "ASIMOV 2024" is to unearth exceptional talent among school, polytechnic, and engineering college students in the field of robotics and design to build the robot. The aim of the Asimov 2024 is *To promote design innovation among young makers and give them a venue to display their creations.
